What is head lice?

Head lice are small, wingless insects that live in the hair on your head and feed off the blood from your scalp. Head lice do not spread diseases, but their bites can cause severe irritation and secondary infections if scratched by affected individuals.

Does Lice damage hair?

As lice feed off the human blood from the scalp, they use human hair as support to move around the scalp. Using ineffective anti lice treatments or chemical treatments can cause damage to hair.

How often should I apply Mediker to get rid of lice?

It is recommended that you use Mediker every day till your head is free of lice and nits. Consumers have found it to be effective in four washes.

How do I use Mediker shampoo?

Step 1: Apply Mediker Shampoo on wet hair to create lather.
Step 2: Leave the lather on for 4 minutes for the treatment to be effective.
Step 3: Wash the hair thoroughly.
Step 4: Comb out the stunned lice with a metallic comb within 30 minutes, while the hair is still wet.

Does Mediker remove both Lice and Nits?

Nits are lice eggs that do not normally detach from the hair with normal brushing. Mediker’s unique and all-natural formula is effective against both lice and nits.

Can I use my own shampoo/ conditioner after lice treatment?

It is not recommended that you mix the use of another shampoo/ conditioner after lice treatment, as they could react with one another and adversely affect your hair.

Can there be any side-effects of using Mediker?

No side effects have been found of using Mediker shampoo.

Why is it helpful to comb in between applications?

Mediker Shampoo works on lice by paralyzing them and not killing them. Paralyzing the lice makes it easy for you to remove them, with a common comb. If you do not do this, the infection will remain after the lice regain consciousness.

Is it necessary to comb after shampooing with Mediker?

Is one bottle of Mediker sufficient for my kid?

It is recommended to use about 5ml – 10ml (i.e. about the size of a $1 coin) of Mediker shampoo while washing your child’s hair. This needs to be repeated every day till the head is free of lice and nits. Consumers have found it to be effective in four washes. As the shampoo is available in 100ml and 200ml bottles, it is sufficient for you and your child.

Will it work in tough cases of lice in long and thick hair?

Yes, Mediker is effective on head lice, irrespective of the length or type of hair.

Do I have to treat everyone in the house with Mediker?

Family members who share the same home must also be inspected for head lice. In case you do find Lice in the heads of other people you live with, it is strongly recommended that they too are treated with Mediker following our 4step process.
